Signal Vs. Telegram: Which Secure Messaging App Is Better? To change the number you use with Telegram, open Settings (which is inside the left menu on Android). On iPhone, in the next menu, tap Edit in the top-right corner. This step isn't necessary on Android. You can also customize your chat background image in βChat Backgroundβ in Chat Settings. Telegram is one of the feature-packed messaging services out there, armed with some neat perks that can put rivals like WhatsApp and Signal to shame when it comes to functionality. While basic Telegram features like the ability to edit messages after sending them are well known, here are some lesser-known, yet incredibly useful things the app can do that could come in quite handy.
On WhatsApp and other messaging apps, you can send uncompressed media by changing the media extension to something like PDF or EXE. However, on Telegram, you donβt need to take this hacky route for sending uncompressed media files. Just select your media and tap on the 3-dot menu. After that, choose βSend without compressionβ and that is it. How awesome is that? This single Telegram trick has saved me so much headache when sharing photos. Telegram has an upload limit of 2 GB per single file. It was one of the most valuable Telegram features I mostly loved. To do this, head over to Telegramβs settings by sliding over the hamburger menu from the left of the app. Here, choose βSettingsβ and then click on βChat Settingsβ. In this menu, you will see a number of themes and colour options to choose from. Further, you can also change the curve on message boxes and font size. The app is really awesome for me rather than using other Messaging apps for my day-to-day works. It has all the things that meet my requirements.
